The Western Australian Institute of Sport offers employment and experience opportunities across many disciplines.

Employment

Employment opportunities may be published on the WAIS website, Australian Sports Commission’s (ASC) Clearinghouse for Sport website, LinkedIn, Sportspeople or Seek.com. All other websites advertising WAIS positions have not been published with WAIS’ consent and may contain incorrect information. To remain up to date with WAIS employment opportunities, please always visit the WAIS website in the first instance.

Employee and consultants working in the WAIS daily training environment will be required to possess specific qualifications and maintain the validity of these documents to commence and continue working with WAIS:

  • Working with Children’s Check
  • First Aid Certification
  • CPR certification
  • Coaching/Discipline Accreditation
  • National Police Clearance

Student Placement

To obtain a student placement at WAIS, you must be in your third year or higher of a relevant degree. A request for placement must come via your university, and you must provide the following documentation to be considered for placement;

  • Working with children check
  • Insurance documentation from your university
  • Letter of reference/support from your university
  • Provide evidence of current first aid

International students are subject to Visa requirements, and must also provide the above documentation in addition to the required documents for visa approval.
