Matthew Pavlich was born in Adelaide on December 31, 1981.

Pavlich is arguable the best footballer produced by the Fremantle Football Club, playing 300 AFL games in a career lasting from 2000 to 2016.

Pavlich was selected in the All Australian team six times in midfield, defensive and attacking roles.

He made his debut in 2000 and in his second season he made the national team as a full back at the age of 20.

In 2003 Pavlich was thrust into the midfield where he was a great success, scoring 37 goals and representing Australia in International Rules matches against Ireland.

2022 saw Pavlich recognised by the AFL as a member of their Hall of Fame, thus capping a stellar career.

Inducted into the Western Australian Hall of Champions on November 11, 2024.
