Athlete in Focus: Kristina Krstic

WAIS is home to hundreds of athletes all hailing from different walks of life. This month we catch up with lawn bowls athlete Kristina Krstic to gain an insight into her sporting journey.

  

Sport: Lawn Bowls

  

When did you first start participating in your sport?

My father introduced me to the sport at 10-years of age.

  

What is your favourite thing about your sport?

That people of any age can compete and the friendships that I’ve made all over the world.

  

What is your biggest sporting achievement to date?

Winning the World Under 25’s Girls Singles and Mixed Pairs gold medals in 2015.

  

What is your ultimate sporting goal?

To be a part of the Commonwealth Games and World Bowls team.

  

Do you work or study outside of lawn bowls?

I’m in my fifth year of my chiropractic degree at Murdoch University. I also work casually at a health food store.

  

What is your biggest non-sporting achievement to date?

Completing my Bachelor of Science degree in 2015 and soon my Bachelor of Chiropractic degree.

  

Do you have any other hobbies outside of your sport and work?

Baking and exercising.

What is an interesting fact about you that not many people know?

I can speak Serbian fluently and am quite OCD about being clean!
