Athletics season continues for WAIS athletes at Canberra Track Classic
The Athletics Australia
Coles Summer Super Series continues this week at the Canberra Track Classic at
the AIS Athletics Track, on Thursday.
Following a strong
showing in Perth two weeks ago the WAIS Pole Vaulters will be back in action. Kurtis Marschall leads the way following his Olympic qualifyier and is joined
by Angus Armstrong fresh off a PB and Stephen Clough and Declan Carruthers.
The women’s pole vault
competition will feature Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Nina Kennedy who returned to
form jumping 4.50m at the Jandakot Airport Track Classic on her return to
competition. Also competing is Liz Parnov and Lauren Hyde-Cooling.
The sprints will be
hotly contested with Aaron Bresland lining up in the 100m and Brianna Beahan will feature in the 100m hurdles. Rising star Taylah Cruttenden will be eying
an under 20 world championship qualifier for the 100m, having already secured
the qualifier in the 200m.
Three time world
champion Madison de Rozario will contest the 800m Wheelchair and Chad Perris will line up in the 100m Ambulatory.
