Australia’s surge towards the 2009 Junior Hockey World Cup crown gained momentum after the Burras dispatched Pakistan 6-1 in Malaysia.

Pakistan shocked the Australian outfit by opening the scoring in the first minute of play, but the Burras clinical teamwork and superior skills had the side 3-1 up at half time.

The Burras produced 17 circle penetrations to five in that period to overwhelm the Pakistanis and again provided plenty of evidence in the second period that they will be among the teams to beat for this year’s trophy.

WAIS scholarship holders Chris Bausor and Matt Boyce are in the Burras squad and will be back in action against Korea in Singapore today.
