Community Announcement

Published On: 17 December 2024

The allegations of historical misconduct in the WAIS Pole Vault program, as highlighted in recent media, are deeply concerning. We profoundly regret the harm and trauma experienced by affected athletes and are committed to addressing these matters with transparency and accountability, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all athletes. As we enter a new era at WAIS, with new leadership in place, we are focused on rebuilding trust and moving forward with integrity.

We also ask for kindness and respect toward our current staff, who are navigating this confronting news while continuing to work every day to support, mentor, and train our athletes. At WAIS, we are more than an organisation – we are a community of athletes, families, staff, and supporters. Our community needs your support now more than ever as we address these issues, rebuild trust, and continue working to create a safer, stronger future.
