Hope Munro celebrates scoring Australia's fourth goal in their 4-0 rout of England

The Hockeyroos have remained in the hunt for the Samsung Champions Trophy after comprehensively outclassing England 4-0 on Thursday night, with WAIS athlete Hope Munro getting on the scoresheet.

Munro was joined in the Australian line up for the match by fellow WAIS athletes Ashleigh Nelson and Fiona Boyce, as Frank Murray’s side dismantled England with two goals in each half.

The result gives the home side an opportunity to qualify for Sunday’s final, with their last round match against Olympic Gold Medalists The Netherlands to determine who will face Argentina for the title.

Australia started brightly despite the match being played in wet conditions, with Nelson creating an early opportunity on a penalty corner. Nelson’s close effort was followed by another penalty corner and Nic Arrold converted to give her side a 1-0 lead.

The lead was doubled by Casey Eastham with another penalty corner conversion in the 27th minute as the Hockeyroos went into the half with a two goal buffer.

Australia’s third came off another penalty corner just after the break, with Arrold scoring her second before Munro completed the rout with a field goal 15 minutes from time.
