The 2017 Australian Hockey League is headed west, with Hockey Australia announcing this week that Perth will host the elite men’s and women’s competition.
The 2017 AHL will run from September 28 – October 8 with matches to be played at the Perth Hockey Stadium.
The league will boast teams from all Australian states and territories, as well as teams from India and New Zealand who will participate in both the men and women’s competition.
The Victorian Vikings and Queensland Scorchers will look to defend their 2016 titles in the men’s and women’s Australian Hockey Leagues respectively.
India will be sending their national development squads for the AHL, while New Zealand will sending squads directly behind their national teams.
It is the second year in succession that Perth has been selected to host the AHL tournaments.
