Seven West Australian athletes ready for World Men’s Junior Water Polo Championships

Seven West Australian athletes will line up as part of the Australian Team atthe 2019 FINA World Men’s Junior Water Polo Championship in Kuwait, 12-20 December.

The 20th edition of the Championships see a young Australian team lining up looking to continue their development on the world stage.

John Hedges the younger brother of Aussie Stingers team-member Lilian Hedges is one of two goalkeepers selected along with Flynn Mais.

Having represented Australia at the Youth World Championships a year ago Matthew Oberman, son of dual Olympian Mark Oberman will made his Junior World Championship debut.

Utility Alistair Bruce, driver Matt Murphy, Lachlan Vos and Lewis Putt complete the seven strong WA group on the13-member team.

The 20 team competition sees nations split in to four groups, with Australia playing Greece, New Zealand, Brazil and Uzbekistan in pool D.
