Six WAIS paddlers selected in Australian Canoe Sprint and Para Canoe teams

Six WAIS athletes have been selected in the Australian Canoe Sprint and Para Canoe teams for 2022 World Cups and World Championships.

Lachlan Armstrong and Yale Steinepreis, who graduated to the Paddle Australia National Centre of Excellence in January have been named for their maiden international season at senior level. The pair are part of a strong 12-member Australian Team who will compete at the 2022 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup circuit and at the 2022 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships.

The strength and growth of the WAIS Paracanoe Program is evident with more than half of the seven member team hailing from WAIS. Kathleen O’Kelly-Kennedy (WA), Amy Ralph (WA), Mark Daniels (WA) and Ben Sainsbury will contest the Para Canoe World Cup and World Championships for the 2022 international season.
