Six West Australians selected in Australian Junior Men’s World Championship Team

Six West Australian athletes will line up for the Australian Team for the World Men’s Junior Water Polo Championships, 12-20 December 2019.

The Championships will be held in Kuwait, which last hosted the Junior Men’s Championships in 1999, where the Australian Team claimed the silver medal.

John Hedges the younger brother of Aussie Stingers team-member Lilian Hedges is one of two goalkeepers selected along with Flynn Mais.

Having represented Australia at the Youth World Championships a year ago Matthew Oberman, son of dual Olympian Mark Oberman will made his Junior World Championship debut.

Utility Alistair Bruce, driver Matt Murphy and Lachlan Vos complete the strong WA contingent on the team.

The 20 team competition sees nations split in to four groups, with Australia in Group D with New Zealand, Brazil, Greece and a further team from the Americas to be confirmed.
