WA shooter Laura Coles will defend her Commonwealth title on the Gold Coast next month knowing the target is now on her back.

The 30 year-old won gold in Glasgow in the women’s skeet final and four years on, it’s in that same event that she’ll hope to emulate the feat.

Despite going in as the reigning champion, Coles said she was preparing to be colour-blind with her ambitions at the Belmont Shooting Centre in Brisbane, suggesting she would be thrilled with a medal of any kind.

She also told Ten Eyewitness News that the opportunity to compete for Australia again would already represent a personal milestone after a difficult two-years after she narrowly missed selection for the Rio Olympic Games.
