The Rollers through to quarter finals at Asia-Oceania Championships
Despite suffering their first ever loss at an Asia Oceania Championship The Rollers have moved through to the quarterfinals following a 4-1 record in the pool rounds to move in to the quarter finals.
A strong start with a 58 to 46 victory of Korea before a dominant display against Thailand 71-48 saw The Rollers continue their dominance in the tournament. A convincing 23 point win over the powerful Iran only reinforced their credentials as the dominant force in the tournament winning 78 to 55.
The fourth game against China produced an early scare with The Rollers down at half time before powering home in the final quarter to win 67 to 46.
In their final pool game against Japan the fast pace game was neck and neck from the opening buzzer as the lead continually switched between Australia and Japan. A six point lead heading in to the final quarter was not enough to stop Japan powering home to win 64 to 61.
With the pool matches complete The Rollers continue their quest for another overall title against Malaysia on Friday.
