The Australian Men’s Water Polo team has started the Universiade in fine style, with four WAIS athletes featuring in a 20-0 victory over Canada.

Coached by WAIS Water Polo Coach Paul Oberman, the side completely outclassed the Canadians in their Group B preliminary at the Universiade (World University Games) in Belgrade.

Luke Quinlivan kept a cleansheet in goals, making six saves along the way, while Joel Swift and Aaron Younger scored two goals apiece. Fellow WAIS scholarship holder Nick O’Halloran also got on the scoresheet with a single goal.

Oberman’s side takes the water again on Friday (Belgrade time) with their second preliminary match against Montenegro.
