WAIS archer Taylor Worth has recorded an impressive result at the 2013 Archery World Championships in Belek, Turkey, finishing seventh in the men’s recurve tournament.
Worth became the first Australian to feature in the top eight at a World Championships in over a decade, after winning a three way shoot off in the qualifications.
Worth would eventually finish seventh in the finals, as the 2012 London Olympian continues to grow his international reputation.
“I was very happy with my results over all which left me with a personal best, competition best and was also the best result from an Australian at a world champs since 2003,” explained Worth.
After famously taking out the world No. 1 Brady Ellison (USA) at both the London Olympic Games last year, and Shanghai World cup earlier this year in May, Worth felt his preparation was enough to take on the best in the world.
“I just did normal shooting, no weights or cardio and I was feeling good,” he said. “When I got there I knew I was ready to take on the best.”
After completing a personal and competition best, Worth has completed his 2013 competition schedule. He heads to China later this week as an Ambassador for the Youth World Championships.
