WAIS
advises that following the completion of an independent investigation it has terminated
the contract of pole vault coach Alex Parnov, with immediate effect.
WAIS
management acted to investigate concerns over Mr Parnov’s behaviour as soon as
they were brought to their attention earlier this year.
The investigation found that Mr Parnov had breached his employment
contract with WAIS.
Chief
Executive Officer, Steve Lawrence said: “WAIS is committed to providing a safe
and ethical environment for staff and athletes. We take this commitment very
seriously and hold all our employees, coaches and athletes to high standards.”
In
order to protect the privacy of individuals involved in this investigation,
WAIS will be making no further comment on the details of the investigation.
