Sally Ironmonger

Born on August 23, 1967 Sally Ironmonger established a proud career in the sport of netball and is considered one of the best defensive proponents that this state has ever seen.

She is one of WA netball’s most respected and decorated players. A tenacious and imposing defender, Sally represented her state and country with distinction, in particular as part of the silver medal winning Australian team at the 1987 World Cup in Glasgow.

In a distinguished international career spanning five years, Sally played 20 Tests for Australia and also appeared regularly for Western Australia for over a decade.

She was a member of the inaugural Perth Orioles squad in 1997 and was named as one of the Magnificent Seven in the Orioles’ 11 year history.

Ironmonger became just the fifth netballer to earn induction into the WA Hall of Champions.
