The Jandakot Airport Track Classic
starts the first event of the 2020 Summer Super Series as WAIS’s best
athletics athletes are joined by some of their interstate rivals and
international stars with Olympic qualifying points on offer.

Pole Vault will be a feature of the day with both the men’s and women’s
competitions set to excite the crowd as Australia’s best look to jump
their way in to the season. Competition opens with the women’s that sees
2012 Olympian Liz Parnov and 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist
Nina Kennedy joined by some rising stars. While New Zealand’s Olivia
McTaggart will look to upset the Aussie hopes.

In the men’s Commonwealth Games gold medallist Kurtis Marshall leads a
stacked field as he hopes to jump his way to an Olympic qualifier. Angus
Armtstong will also be a name to watch after twice being close to
breaking his PB in the past month, as will the charging Declan
Carruthers.

Two time Para World Championship medallist Sarah Edmiston will compete
in the women’s discus in the F54 category. The men’s javelin will be a
hotly contested event with Luke Cann looking to improve on his best
along with Morgan Ward.

Rising West Australian Kayla Van der Linden will compete in the 800m
against Australian star Morgan Mitchell, with Van der Linden already
having set a Under 20 World Championships qualifier at the All School
Championships in December.
