WAIS Athletes Named in the Western Sting

Published On: 22 December 2016

Netball Western Australia have recently announced their selection of the 14 person Western Sting squad who will compete in the Australian Netball League in 2017.

The squad includes a number of WAIS netball athletes including Sunday Aryang, Kimberley Shepherd, Helen Taylor, Phoebe Wilcox, Natalie Bright, Sophie Garbin and Olivia Lewis.

Whilst Garbin and Bright have been members of the squad in past years, the remaining five athletes will be making their debut for the Sting in 2017.

Phoebe Wilcox earns her selection after a year out of competition as a result of contracting glandular fever.

WAIS netball coach, Michele Wilkins will once again be involved with the Western Sting, playing an integral part on the coaching team.

After Christmas the team will begin training ahead of their first game in February.
