Ingrid Colyer has been given a fulltime position on the Fever roster for 2015

Western Australian Institute of Sport netball scholarship holders Caitlin Bassett and Ingrid Colyer have inked new contracts with the West Coast Fever, keeping the pair with the Perth based ANZ Championship club for 2015.

Bassett is entering her 11th season with the WA side, having made her debut for the Perth Orioles in 2005, accruing 123 Commonwealth Bank Trophy and ANZ Championship matches over a stellar career.

Colyer has been called upon in both the 2013 and 2014 Fever ANZ Championship campaigns, and joins the team on a permanent basis, having previously represented the club as injury cover.

New Fever Head Coach Stacey Rosman said the signings were a positive reflection of the state’s talent pathway.

“Caitlin has been the backbone of this team for some years now, and I am delighted that she has decided to remain in Perth,” Rosman said.

“We are extremely fortunate to have produced such an incredible talent in our State, and Ingrid is a prime example of us continuing to develop the pathway for up and coming netball stars.”

Currently in Canberra with Australian National team, preparing for this month’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Bassett said she was pleased to be staying with her home-town club.

“I am so excited to be staying in Perth and playing in the green and black,” Bassett said.

“This is where my heart is, and I want to help the team and experience success in my home town.”

20 year old Colyer, from Karridale in WA’s South West, is excited by her opportunity to impress in the Fever midcourt in 2015, having come through the ranks of the WAIS netball program overseen by WAIS coach Michelle Wilkins.

“I honestly can’t believe how amazing this opportunity is,” Colyer said.

“Playing for Fever is something I’ve always dreamed of, and I can’t wait to get started.”
