The WAIS team played the West Coast Falcons in the State Netball Premier League on Tuesday evening.

The young WAIS team were very competitive for three of the four quarters but lapsed concentration and decision making at critical moments. It was during the second quarter that the Falcons capitalised on WAIS errors and got out to a seven goal lead. The final score represented this fact, with the Falcons ahead by eight goals for a 45 to 37 win.

Ellie Smart entered the game at half-time and continued her excellent shooting with 12/14 at 84%. Sarah East and Denise Shepley worked well on a physical and experienced defence but couldn’t finish as consistently. East shot at 19/29 Shepley hitting 6/12.

There were also strong performances from Alice Coakley, Mia Washbourne and Lindal Rohde.

The West Coast Fever play the undefeated Melbourne Vixens this Sunday at Challenge Stadium . The match starts at 12.30pm.
