Australia claim a surprise medal with West Aussie Incerti crucial to team success in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay. Considered an outside chance of a medal Broome born Zac Inceri joined Matthew Temple, Alexander Graham and Kyle Chalmers to deliver a bronze.

After helping Australia book a spot in the final yesterday, Incerti was a key inclusion in the final. His second leg of 47.55secs kept Australia within touching distance for Kyle Chalmers to bring it home. A storming final leg by the Rio 100m gold medallist overhauled Canada, Hungary and France to snare a bronze.

Incerti is likely to line up in the 4x200m relay heats on Tuesday evening. Brianna Throssell also returns to the pool in the 200m butterfly heats.
