WAIS graduate Zac Incerti has claimed his second Commonwealth Games gold medal after helping Australia to a dominant win in the men’s 4x100m freestyle.

“Obviously not the ideal swim this morning,” Incerti said of his 200m heat swim earlier in the day. “I knew coming in to tonight that it was bigger than me.

“Every time I go into a relay, it is for the whole country and everyone back home so that one is for you guys and I’m stoked to get up for it.”

The gold is Incerti’s second gold of the Games after he was part of the heats in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay on the opening day.

In the women’s 100m butterfly Brianna Throssell claimed bronze behind Olympic Champion Maggie Mac Neil and teammate and defending champion Emma McKeon. It is the second consecutive Games, Throssell has claimed bronze in the event.
