Sensational Sunday will be a day that goes down in history. Matt Wearn fulfilled his childhood dream to win Olympic gold, with a dominant win in the Laser. Brianna Throssell added a third medal of the Games with gold in the 4x100m medley relay, just the third WA athlete in history to win three medals in a single Games. That brings the WA medal count to nine including three gold. It didn’t stop there though with Peter Bol breaking his own Australian Record and the Kookaburras are through to the semifinals.
Monday marks the start of the track cycling, artistic swimming and canoe sprint competition. Nina Kennedy and Liz Parnov will be in action in pole vault qualifying. The Matildas face Sweden in football semifinals and the Hockeyroos are looking to continue their winning ways against India in the quarterfinals. Plus sailing, basketball and water polo action.
