The Western Australian Institute of Sport welcomes the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy, developed by Sport Integrity Australia, which comes into effect on 1 January 2021.

The Australian National Anti-Doping Policy reflects the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code and amendments to Australian anti-doping legislation. The purpose of the Australian National Anti-Doping Policy is to have a single and consistent set of anti-doping rules across all sports in Australia.

For athletes, coaches, officials and others involved in sport, it is important to understand the changes and how they affect you.

Changes to the new Anti-Doping Policy include change to the in-competition period, aggravating circumstances leading to longer than standard sanctions, reduced sanctions for early admission, new category for substances of abuse including recreational drugs, a new anti-doping rule violation for retaliation and the creation of a National testing Pool.
