WAIS staff and athletes gathered together in recognition of R U OK? Day, taking time to pause, connect, and reflect on the importance of checking in with one another.

A big thank you to former WAIS swimming scholar, now cyclist! Tegan Reder, who joined us as guest speaker to share her story and insights.

R U OK? Day serves as an important reminder to look after ourselves and each other, with the simple act of asking “Are you OK?” helping to build connection and care in everyday life.

WAIS acknowledges that times of change can be challenging and is committed to fostering a culture where kindness, integrity, and genuine care remain central.

While R U OK? Day is recognised annually, the message goes far beyond one date on the calendar. Checking in with those around us, listening with empathy, and making time for meaningful conversations can have a powerful impact every day.
