Day Four for W.A.I.S in London!

I just LOVE watching the Olympics. Even before I became an Olympian myself, I’ve always had a special passion for the games and the pride in wearing green and gold to support our Aussies. I’m currently in Oregon USA and I was watching our women’s basketball game against France. I was in a quiet waiting room in a doctor’s office and I literally jumped up and SCREAMED when Belinda Snell Shot a three pointer on the buzzer from mid-court to take the game into over-time. I then furthered to scream on the three times they showed the replay of the wonder shot. The American’s around me looked at me like I was insane… I mean the game didn’t involve the US so they didn’t really care! But even though they sadly lost the game in overtime, it was still so awesome watching and feeling this unconditional support and pride for Australia.

Speaking of our Aussies, Our women’s water polo team including Gemma Beadsworth and Glencora Vermeersh beat world champions Italy yesterday 10-8. Kynan Maley and Robin Jeffery came 13th in their first Canoeing heat and 7th in their second run. They will compete in the semi-finals on the 1st.

The Kookaburras (men’s hockey) including W.A.I.S man Fergus Kavangh thrashed South Africa 6-0. A great start for their quest for gold!

For day 4 of the games watch out for the following events including our W.A.I.S athletes.
