Western Australia’s rowers have made it safely through to the finals after the repechage round of races at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park.

WA athletes in the men’s eight and the women’s quad sculls were in action on Tuesday as they sought to qualify for Sunday’s finals.

In the men’s eight Jeremy Stevenson and David Dennis took their seats as their crew recovered from Monday’s rudder disaster to finish second behind the American boat. The Australians finished in a time of 5:40.31.

In the women’s quad scull Amber Bradley played her part as the Australian boat finished third behind Germany and the United States in a time of 6:41.39.

Fellow WA athletes Sarah Tait and Natalie Bale will row Wednesday afternoon in the women’s eight repechage.
