First Place Finish for Ingram and Lefroy in Final B

Australia’s LTA Mixed Coxed Four crew has finished seventh overall in their Paralympic debut.

The LTA Mixed Coxed Four Australian team has made their mark on history in Rio 2016, where Western Australians Brock Ingram and Davinia Lefroy helped their team qualify in Australia’s first ever representation in this classification.

After coming fourth in their first heat, the Australians moved into the repechage round.

Here is where they showed their true potential, narrowly missing out on a position in Final A by 0.8 seconds.

Having missed out on Final A, the boat moved into Final B where they powered home, earning themselves a first place finish.

The Australians completed the race in 3:30.59, giving them a sixth place ranking for the final round, a faster time than that of the Chinese who competed in Final A.

Despite their quicker time, the Australians finished up in seventh position overall due to their failure to qualify for final A.
