The Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) is proud to celebrate four WAIS supported athletes who have been named finalists for the 2025 SportWest WA Sport Star Award, placing them among just 12 of the state’s most outstanding athletes across all sports.
The nominations recognise an exceptional year of performances on National and International stages, highlighting the depth of talent and high-performance excellence within the Australian system.
The four WAIS athletes shortlisted for the prestigious award are Zac Littlewood (Sailing), Kurtis Marschall (Athletics), Lekeisha Pergoliti (Boxing) and Kyle Lee (Open Water Swimming).
Sailor Zac Littlewood returns to the SportWest WA Sport Star finalist list following another standout year, continuing to cement his place among Australia’s leading ILCA7 athletes. His consistency at the highest level and strong performances in major championships have reinforced his status as a key Olympic prospect as he builds toward Los Angeles 2028.
Pole vaulter Kurtis Marschall has again demonstrated his world-class credentials, earning recognition for his fearless approach and ability to deliver on the biggest stages. A proven international performer, Marschall continues to push the boundaries of Australian pole vaulting while setting his sights on future global championships.
Boxer Lekeisha Pergoliti’s nomination reflects years of perseverance, discipline and growth in the ring. Known for her resilience and willingness to test herself against elite opposition, Pergoliti’s performances over the past year have marked a significant step forward in her career at the highest level.
Open water swimmer Kyle Lee rounds out the WAIS quartet after another impressive year competing in demanding conditions both domestically and internationally. Renowned for his strength, endurance and tactical racing, Lee continues to establish himself as one of Australia’s leading open water athletes.
With four athletes recognised among the State’s best, the nominations are a testament to the dedication of the athletes, coaches and support staff who contribute to WAIS’s high-performance environment.
WAIS congratulates all four finalists and wishes them every success at the 2025 SportWest WA Sport Awards on 26 February 2026, where the WA Sport Star of the Year will be announced amongst other awards.
