Gymnastics Australia Statement on Emily Little

Published On: 2 June 2017

Gymnastics Australia released a statement on Thursday evening advising that gymnast Emily Little sustained injury to her neck last Sunday, competing at the 2017 Australian Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne.

The Statement from GA reads as follows:

Gymnastics Australia (GA) and Gymnastics Western Australia (GWA) wish to advise that Emily Little returned home to Perth late Thursday, following an injury sustained on the final day of competition at the 2017 Australian Gymnastics Championships at Melbourne’s Hisense Arena.

Little, the 2017 Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Australian All-around Champion, had an uncharacteristic fall on her first tumbling pass on Floor in the Senior International Apparatus Finals on Sunday 28 May and suffered a neck injury. Emily has been under the care of specialist staff at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and is expected to make a full recovery.

We look forward to Emily returning to the sport as soon as possible.
