Last night (WST) at the Olympic Aquatics Centre, Western Australian swimmer Guy Harrison-Murray competed in the S10 100m Freestyle event where he narrowly missed out on a finals position.

In his first Paralympic competition, Harrison-Murray had already competed in the S10 50m Freestyle final, following a swim off in order to earn his position.

Unfortunately he was not so fortunate in the 100m event, missing out on a place in the finals by 0.01 seconds.

Harrison-Murray competed in heat three of the S10 100m Freestyle alongside fellow Australian Michael Anderson.

He was able to execute a strong swim, finishing in third position with a time of 54.78 seconds.

Although he was successful in his heat Olivier van de Voort of the Netherlands and Dmytro Vanzenko from the Ukraine, were just that tiny bit better in heat two.

They both finished their swims in 54.77 seconds, knocking Harrison-Murray out of finals contention.
