WAIS Junior Cyclists are producing top Results this month.

The Junior World Track Championships were held in Invercargill, NZ, on August 22-26.

WAIS and WA athletes were represented by Kelsey Robson, Alle Proud and Trent Derecourt whom each produced ver strong results.

Robson alongside teammates Taylah Jenning (QLD) and Georgia Baker (TAS) won the Women’s Team Pursuit with a World Record time, and later in the week Kelsey convincingly won the Individual pursuit with a time less than a second from the current U19 World Record.

Allee also did well hitting her performance targets to bring home the bronze with partner Caitlin Ward (VIC) in the Women’s Team Sprint.  She then produced a personal best 11.699 in the flying 200 and finished a respectable 7th in the Keirin by winning the minor final.

The Points Race was very fast, but Trent raced it well to finish 8th after missing an early break away and having to regain that ground later in the race.

In other Cycling updates, Brad Linfield Triumphed at the Trofeo Emilio Paganessi in Italy crossing the line with a time of 3:01:17. Australian teammate Caleb Ewan following tight on his wheel just one second behind.

The tough and hilly 120k circuit, with 190 starters, was a good World Prep for Linfield.
