WA gymnast Eva Kierath has earned selection for the Australian team to contest the World Trampoline Gymnastics Championships in Bulgaria next month.

The 23 year-old Peak Trampoline club member will tackle a second world championship campaign, with the Dentistry graduate set to compete in both the women’s individual and women’s synchronised events.

Daughter of the acclaimed plastic surgeon and burns specialist Dr. Fiona Wood, Kierath made the decision to focus on trampoline at age 12, having previously honed her skills in artistic gym.

The City Beach resident won an U19 World Age Championship title in 2011, before progressing through Pacific Rim and World Cup levels en route to making her senior world championship debut in Denmark back in 2015.

Coached by Leo Kimble, Kierath will be joined in the women’s field in the Australian team by Abbie Watts, Claire Arthur and Kira Ward.

Kierath will partner Ward in the women’s synchronised, whilst Western Australia will be further represented at the Championships by youngster Jack Petrie in the men’s Double Mini Trampoline.

Kierath and the Australian Trampoline team will contest the championships in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia from November 9-12.
