WAIS graduate Lauren Reynolds made history on Friday as she lined up in the women’s BMX, becoming the first Australian to compete at three Olympic Games.

Reynolds’s third campaign started well finishing third in the first quarterfinal race before a second and fourth saw her easily move in to the semifinals.

“It’s awesome to be out here, it’s been a hell of a journey and I wouldn’t change it for the world,” Reynolds said.

“I definitely hit rock bottom but I feel like I’ve found a whole new me and hopefully we can see that this weekend, race by race.”
