Little Completes World Cup Campaign with Dual Doha Silver

Emily Little has completed her international tour with another dual medal winning campaign at the FIG World Cup event in Doha.

Having assumed top international rankings on three apparatus after her triple medal efforts in Baku last week, Little again qualified for three finals in Doha, this time adding silver medals on Vault and Floor in the Qatari capitol.

Little contested the Vault final first up on Friday, competing against one international gymnastics’ most celebrated figures in the form of Uzbekistan’s Oksana Chusovitina.

Chusovitina has competed at six Olympic Games, with her first in Barcelona 1992, coming before Emily Little was even born.

Her star power was at its brightest best in Doha, with the 41 year-old claiming gold (14.166), narrowly ahead of Little’s polished score of 14.099 for second.

Little backed up for two further finals on Saturday, claiming a second silver medal on Floor before recording a fourth place finish on Beam.

In the Floor final, Little returned a score of 13.133 to finish behind China’s Tingting Liu (13.366) whilst her impressive effort on Beam (13.200) was shy of a medal in a high quality final, highlighted again by Liu’s exquisite combinations, which fetched gold on 14.466.
