Western Australian gymnast Emily Little has won two medals at the weekend World Challenge Cup in Hungary.

The 22 year-old featured in both vault and beam apparatus finals, sharing gold on beam and taking silver on vault.

Little contested the vault final on Saturday, scoring 14.216 in second place, behind China’s Jinru Liu (14.367).

The 2016 Australian vault champion executed a 14.566 vault with her first attempt – which featured higher difficulty, before safely completing her second vault, for a 13.833 return, with total scores blended by the two.

Buoyed by her impressive vault form, Little went one step further on the medal podium in Sunday’s beam final, scoring 13.300 to share gold with China’s Jiaqi Lyu.

The result was a strong return for Little, with beam not traditionally considered a favourite event for the 2012 London Olympian.

Third place was taken by Czech gymnast Veronika Cenkova, on 13.033 points.

Having narrowly missed selection for the one available place at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Little has maintained a busy training and competition schedule, earning finals appearances at the Anadia World Cup in Portugal, before scoring a personal best in vault, at the Heerenveen Open.
