Little Selected for Melbourne World Cup

Western Australian gymnast Emily Little has earned selection for the Australian women’s artistic team set to contest the FIG World Cup in Melbourne later this month.

With Melbourne hosting the inaugural edition of the individual apparatus World Cup, Little has been selected to compete in three apparatus as the London Olympian looks to build on the strong form she demonstrated over the second half of 2016.

Little will tackle the Vault, Beam and Floor events in Melbourne with competition set to run between February 22-25 with qualification rounds held over the opening two days, followed by finals on the Friday and Saturday.

Held at Hisense Arena, the World Cup will boast athletes from 15 countries, including Olympic medallists.

Little will also be representing the newly formed Perth National Centre of Excellence (Perth NCE), which commenced operation of the women’s artistic high performance program in WA from WAIS on the 1 January this year.

The Australian women’s artistic team also features; Naomi Lee, Rianna Mizzen, Georgia-Rose Brown, Emma Nedov and Georgia Godwin.
