Gymnast Emily Little has qualified for the Vault final after scoring 14.133 in Wednesday’s qualification round at the Melbourne World Cup.

The Western Australian earned the second highest ranking through to Friday night’s final and will again be in action on Thursday – in the qualification rounds for Beam and Floor.

China’s Yan Wang topped qualification on Vault, edging Little’s score with 14.216. Wang and Little are expected to battle it out for World Cup gold on Friday.

Little’s fellow Australian competitor Naomi Lee qualified third, with 13.183.

The Melbourne World Cup is being hosted at Hisense Arena, from February 22-25. As a part of the International Gymnastics Federation’s (FIG) new World Cup format, Australia will host a stop on the Individual Apparatus World Cup circuit for the next four years for both Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.

The Melbourne World Cup represents one of four stops on the circuit along with Cottbus (GER), Baku (AZE), and Doha (QAT).
