The Australian Women’s T35-38 4x100m sprint team has competed in Rio overnight (WST) and come away with a bronze medal to add to Australia’s tally.

Western Australian Ella Pardy competed alongside Isis Holt, Erin Cleaver and experienced Paralympian Jodi Elkington-Jones.

Pardy opened the race for the Australians executing a strong run, just as she had done earlier in the week in her individual T38 100m sprint.

She passed the baton on to 15-year-old Isis Holt who carried it through to Jodi Elkington-Jones.

Elkington-Jones was the only member of the team to have previously competed in a Paralympic Games, making her debut in London 2012.

16-year-old, Erin Cleaver was passed the baton last, given the big task of completing the race successfully for the Australians.

The team executed a brilliant race finishing in 55.09 seconds taking the third position, behind China and Great Britain.

Winning the gold medal, the Chinese produced a world class performance, setting a new World Record for the event of 50.81 seconds.

Ella Pardy will leave Rio having had an excellent Paralympic campaign, making the finals in her individual T38 100m sprint and winning a bronze medal in the 4x100m sprint.
