Pro League Squads Confirmed

Hockey Australia have settled on their squads for the final tour legs of the men’s and women’s FIH Pro League which will be played predominantly in Europe.

Four Western Australian men have earned selection for the five matches to be played in Europe with two further finals should the team progress.

Co-captain Aran Zalewski leads the local charge, where he will be joined by Trent Mitton, Jake Harvie and goal keeper Tyler Lovell.

It’s set to be a massive month for the Kookaburras, with the team to go head to head with Europe’s strongest nations.

They’ll play Great Britain on June 10 before completing a five match campaign over the course of two weeks that will also see them clash with; Spain (June 14), Germany (June 16), Belgium (June 20) and the Netherlands (June 22).

Semi Finals will be contested over Friday June 28 with the Final on June 30.

The Hockeyroos have made changes to their squad with Penny Squibb the sole Western Australian representative over the five match tour that will see them travel to Europe after a first up clash with China on June 2.

The Australians will also face Great Britain (June 10), Germany (June 16), Belgium (June 20) and the Netherlands (June 23) with semis and finals both scheduled a day earlier than the men’s.

Selections have also been the burning topic at the local level, with both men’s and women’s WA U21 squads recently confirmed ahead July’s national championships in NSW.

The WA men’s U21 side to be coached by Chris O’Reilly will feature six WAIS squad members, including; James Collins, Dane Gavranich, Tom Harvie, Brayden King, Alistair Murray and Christian Starkie.

  

Jeremy Davy will coach the women’s U21 team, assisted by former Hockeyroo Kobie McGurk. The team contains seven WAIS squad members, which is represented by; Sienna Archer, Sara Foster, Annie Gibbs, Phillipa Morgan, Renee Rockliff, Jolie Sertorio and Karri Somerville.
