Rollers pull out Tough Win

 
The seven point win was forged late, as the Rollers fell behind with four minutes to play, before drawing on their characteristic spirit to over-come a determined Turkish outfit for their second win of the 2012 London Paralympic Games.
 
The dual threat of WAIS’s Justin Eveson and NSW’s Tristan Knowles both contributed 17 points for the Australian cause, whilst Eveson’s fellow WAIS members Shaun Norris (13) and Brad Ness (12) both contributing to the winning score.

The Rollers stayed calm under pressure and stuck to their game plan, gaining crucial turn overs to come out on top.
 
Rollers coach Ben Ettridge said he was not surprised by the performance and paid tribute to the Turkish team.
 
“It was what we expected. They are a very tough team. They showed on opening night they can push with the big boys now and they have a force to be reckoned with.”
 
Rollers star Justin Eveson echoed his coach’s sentiments post match.
 
“We expected that. We knew it would be tough and a grind and we were lucky to come out on top.”
 
The Australian Rollers next play Spain, on Saturday September 1 at the London Basketball Arena.
