Seven WAIS graduates have been selected into the Rowing Australian National Training Centres for 2023.

Olympic gold medallist Annabelle McIntyre is joined by her returning Olympic teammates Giorgia Patten and Bronwyn Cox.

After spending 2022 based at the NTC and competing with the Australian Rowing Team in Europe, where she won World Cup gold, Jacqui Swick joins the NTC on a full time basis.

Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Jack Cleary returns to the men’s NTC along with Joshua Hicks and Sam Marsh.

Performance Director Paul Thompson MBE said, “It is exciting to welcome back some of our 2020 Olympians into our respective High-Performance programs, this shows the depth of the talent in Australia.

“We have a good mixture of experience and youth, and both groups will push each other on a daily basis to challenge themselves and improve.”

“It’s been very competitive to gain a place in the 2023 NTC intake. We are very fortunate to have such strong pathways and clubs for those athletes who were not selected will continue to push their standard in their home states and show themselves through the Australian Rowing Team selection process.

Looking ahead to the 2023 season, the team will be preparing for the World Cup season and the all-important 2023 World Championships, which doubles up as the Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta.
