Western Australian players lead the way in the 2021 Women’s National Development squad, with Sara Foster, Annie Gibbs, Phillipa Morgan, Candyce Peacock, Renee Rockliff and Shanea Tonkin all selected.

With six WAIS scholarship holders in the 24-member squad, Western Australian athletes account for a quarter of the group, solidifying WA’s strong hockey pathway.

Recent graduates from the National Development Squad to the Hockeyroos including Georgia Wilson, Karri Somerville and last year Aleisha Power.

The cancellation of the 2020 U21 National championships and HockeyOne, due to the COVID-19 pandemic made the assessment of National Junior Squad athletes difficult. The selection panel opted to include athletes who have aged out of this squad into the 2021 Development Squad.
