The WAIS Athlete Career and Education Program presents its first event for 2009. Australian cricketing great Brad Hogg will be talking with WAIS student-athletes, coaches, parents and partners on Thursday 19 February, 2009 on issues relating to balancing life and sport.
Brad Hogg played 123 one day internationals for Australia claiming 156 wickets at an average of 26.84, figures that saw him retire as Australia’s second most successful one day spinner ever behind only the great Shane Warne. Hogg also played in two winning world cup teams and featured in seven test matches in the fabled baggy green of Australia.
The “Talking Success with Brad Hogg” session will cover topics including:
- Learning skills to find balance between elite sport and academic pursuits
- Skills and attributes needed to help reach goals
-
Lessons learned with the benefit of hindsight
Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) contacts from each university will be attending, giving new students in 2009 the perfect opportunity to ask any questions they might have before commencing. The EAFU representatives are there to help and their services will benefit your studies so don’t miss this great opportunity.
