Van Nus: Olympic campaign over

Western Australian shooter, Robyn Van Nus has failed to qualify for the final of the 50m rifle three position in Beijing.

Van Nus showed some good form but against a world class field, couldn’t force a big enough score and had to settle for a final position of 40th.

The 50m rifle three positions was Van Nus’ second and final event in Beijing after she also competed in the 10m air rifle on day one of competition. Van Nus finished 44th in that event.

Fellow Australian Sue McCready finished 43rd.

Western Australian swimmer Sally Foster has missed out on making the final of the women’s 200m breaststroke after finishing fifth in her semi final swim today in a time of 2:26.33mins.

Australian Leisel Jones qualified second fastest and will be a strong favourite to win her second gold medal of the Games.
