The 2009-13 WAIS Strategic Plan has been launched, with the new plan being approved by the WAIS Board at it’s May meeting.

The plan, which takes WAIS towards the 2012 London Olympic Games, is an extension of the very successful 2005-2008 Strategic Plan which saw the Institute outperform it’s key performance indicators over the Beijing Olympiad.

An introductory note to the new plan from WAIS Chairman Grant Boyce is below, together with a link to the document.

I am very pleased to provide for your information a copy of the WAIS Strategic Plan 2009 – 13, a plan that leads us into our second 25 years of operation.

This plan is in essence an extension and iteration of our very successful 2005 – 2008 plan. The plan reinforces our commitment to “Producing Champions” for the benefit of Western Australia and the nation through strategic partnerships with sport and key sport focussed organisations.

This plan recognises both the strengths and weaknesses of current operations and the challenges we must overcome to continue our 25 years of success. The Board also remains confident that the soon to be released Crawford Review, along with the recently released AOC/APC High Performance Plan will provide opportunities for WAIS to play its part in enhancing the national system.

The Board will use the plan and its strategic monitoring processes to review and support the achievement of our goals. We hope that as a WAIS partner, organisation or stakeholder you find this plan valuable in assisting your understanding of WAIS philosophy and strategy and therefore in continuing to strengthen our relationship with you and your organisation.

Kind Regards,

Grant Boyce

Chairman
