WAIS athletes Jesse Phillips and Kyle Rasti took time out from their busy training schedules to travel to Quinns Baptist College today to promote WAIS’s Community Development Program, sponsored by Go for 2 and 5.
Phillips and Rasti talked with the College’s year five students to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, which includes eating two fruit and five vegetables everyday alongside regular exercise.
The students also enjoyed a game of fruit and veg tag before Phillips and Rasti signed autographs and handed out give aways to the group.
Canoeing athlete Jesse Phillips was recently selected into the national training squad to be held in the Gold Coast whilst decathlete Kyle Rasti last February set a new personal best at the National Championships in Queensland.
22 year old Phillips said it was a privilege to take time to put back into the community.
“It’s great to see so many smiling faces in the crowd,” Phillips said. “It is very rewarding to promote such an important cause, and I hope the kids take home some fond memories.”
