WAIS athletes have been on the road this week visiting metropolitan primary schools to deliver the Go for 2&5 WAIS Community Development Program.
The program aims to take role models out into schools to encourage healthy eating and regular physical activity.
On Tuesday Olympians Dasha Joura (gymnastics) and Natalie Bale (rowing) travelled to Atwell Primary School to field questions regarding their training regimes and diet. After handing out giveaways and signing autographs, Dasha even found time to demonstrate a backflip for the school kids.
Thursday’s visit took dual Olympian and Athens bronze medallist Amber Bradley (rowing) to Rostrata Primary School in Willetton along with Natalie Bale. Amber put the kids through their paces with a game of fruit and veg tag, but the Rostrata kids where a bit too fast on the day winning comfortably.
After questions and a rowing exercise demonstration, Amber and Natalie had just enough time to pose for a group photo in the brilliant spring sunshine with their new fans.
