Western Australia has produced a dominant campaign at the recent Australian Synchronised Swimming Championships in Sydney to sweep the categories.
WAIS was represented at the national titles by scholarship holders Deborah Tsai, Amie Thompson, Danielle ten Vaanholt and Danielle Kettlewell with each picking up gold.
Western Australia finished over 100 points clear of the next best state of Victoria, who were marginally clear of Queensland in third place.
SynchroWA Secretary Brian Miller said the WA state association had never been in a healthier state.
“WA won in every event we entered and in a few cases we achieved first and second in the same event,” he said.
“We have more coaches than any other state and our swimmers were very professional.”
“The WAIS athletes stood up and brought home golds, not only individually but also by helping the younger age-group swimmers in their preparation,” Miller said.
